  • Providing Opportunities to Students

    to Achieve Educational Excellence
Second Baptist School is committed to providing opportunities for students to achieve educational excellence in academics, arts and athletics. A well-rounded SBS student engages beyond the classroom, the stage or the field; they are learning to think critically, live biblically and lead courageously as they participate in the variety of student life activities offered at SBS.

Spiritual Formation

Second Baptist School provides Christ-centered education through an aligned Bible curriculum, faith-based programming and a robust offering of spiritual formation activities. Each grade level offers Bible instruction that builds year-to-year to encourage students' personal relationships with Christ. Students also attend Chapel each week to worship as a community of believers. Opportunities for families to fellowship with students are offered throughout the year such as Convocation, the Thanksgiving Praise Service and student-run performances.

Clubs & Organizations

Clubs and organizations at Second Baptist School provide opportunities for students to invest in activities that challenge them to think critically, live biblically and lead courageously. Middle and upper school students hone these leadership skills through service projects, mentoring younger students, participating in organizations like Model U.N. or Tech Squad, serving as a student ambassador or working with student committees in areas that interest them. Second Baptist School encourages the development of leadership skills every day for students of all ages.

Middle & Upper School Leaders

Second Baptist School fosters servant leadership at the junior and senior grade levels through our Prefect and Fellows programs. Student leaders who possess a high degree of commitment to Second Baptist School’s mission, passion and values serve as Prefects and Fellows. Influence within the school community is based on their character as demonstrated through their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, love for SBS and commitment to pursue excellence. Middle school students are able to enhance their leadership skills and experience, and to cultivate a heart of service within the Second Baptist School community through student leadership and service on hospitality, service, spirit, community and appreciation committees.
