After School Programs

Second Baptist School after school programs, Eagle Extended Day (EED), Junior Eagle Extended Day (JEED) and Late Room are designed to provide a positive social-emotional atmosphere for children. The focus is to support and encourage success in all aspects of their development. Our after school programs build on the SBS curriculum by providing science and reading comprehension classes in EED and monitored study time for students in JEED. With a skilled team of teachers and caregivers, students are provided with indoor and outdoor activities, nutritional snacks and homework assistance.

  • Important Reminders

Space in each program is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Payment for after school programs is charged monthly with tuition August-May.

Prior to the start of the program, a confirmation letter with detailed instructions will be sent to you. Included will be required forms and releases that must be returned before your student may participate in After School Programs.
The program has the right to dismiss the student for a repeatedly late pickup.

After School Programs follow inclement weather and emergency closings as determined by Second Baptist School.
Families are required to comply with all After School Program policies as designated by Second Baptist School. Failure to do so will result in termination of the student's participation.
  • Safety and Security

The safety and security of your student is of the utmost importance to us. Please note the following items:

After School Programs classrooms are located in the A Building.
All classrooms are staffed by After School Programs teachers who are employed by Second Baptist School. The employment process includes an extensive background check.

Teachers participate in professional development related to the age-group they are serving, including safety, CPR and first-aid certification. Teachers are trained in accessing appropriate services in case of an emergency.

All classrooms are locked and secured while students are inside.
Students will play outside on designated playgrounds daily, weather permitting. Students are with teachers at all times when they are outside.

A Pick Up Authorization Form must be completed for each student to begin any of the After School Programs. Teachers will only release a student to persons designated on the Pick Up Authorization Form. All exceptions (emergencies, party/play dates) must be approved by the director.

Staff is trained on fire and lockdown procedures, and regular drills are held to ensure proper execution.
