  • LATE ROOM

    Late Room is designed specifically for PK3, PK4 and Kindergarten with older siblings enrolled at SBS and, if space permits, for those who must ride in a 3:30 p.m. carpool. The Late Room calendar runs concurrently with the school calendar. Snacks are provided.

    This service is offered from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning August 19.

    Cost: $55/month


  • EED: PK3, PK4, Bridge

    Filled with fun activities, crafts, reading and game time, Eagle Extended Day (EED) is offered Monday through Friday 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning the first day of school.
     
    EED is available to students enrolled in PK3, PK4 and Bridge will enjoy playground time from 4-5 p.m., weather permitting. During inclement weather, students remain in classroom to play indoor games and activities.
     
    Enrolled students will need the following items for EED:
    • a nap mat
    • an extra change of clothes (inside back pack)
    • lunch and bottle of water
     
    Please label all of your student's items. A healthy snack is provided daily with water. Lesson plans are coordinated with SBS lower school curriculum, which can include a letter of the week, craft project and a nursery rhyme.
     
    EED is open on noon dismissal days and student holidays at no extra charge (as parent conference are part of the regular payment September and May). The EED program has the right to dismiss the student for a repeatedly late pick up.
     
    EED follows the same discipline policy as Second Baptist School. Illnesses and incidents are taken to the Nurse's Office until closing time at 3:30 p.m. After the nurse’s office closes, the director of the EED program will contact parents directly regarding illnesses and/or incidents requiring attention.
     
    Cost: $265/month


  • EED: Kindergarten

    Students in kindergarten EED program read, make crafts and play games and activities from 2:30 - 6 p.m. Students are provided with water and a healthy snack each day. Playground time is included, weather permitting. During inclement weather, students stay in their classroom to play indoor games. 

    EED follows the same discipline policy as Second Baptist School. Illness and incidents are handled by the school nurse until the office closes at 3:30 p.m. After 3:30 p.m., the director of the EED program will contact parents if necessary.

    Kindergarten EED is open on noon dismissal days at no extra cost.

    The program has the right to dismiss any student who is picked up late repeatedly.

    Cost: $265/month


  • EED: Grades 1 - 4

    This program focuses on academic studies and activities from 3:30 - 6 p.m. Playground time is also included, weather permitting. During inclement weather, students stay in the classroom for indoor games and activities. All children are required to do homework with the exception of Wednesday and Fridays. Students are provided with a healthy snack and water each day. 

    EED follows the same discipline policy of Second Baptist School. Illness and incidents are taken to the Nurses Office until the nurse closing time at 3:30 p.m. After 3:30 p.m. the Director of the EED program will contact parents. EED is open on noon dismissal days at no extra cost.

  • SAFETY & SECURITY

    The safety and security of your student is of the utmost importance to us.  Please note the following items:
    • After School Programs classrooms are located in the A Building.
    • All classrooms are staffed by After School Program teachers who are employed by Second Baptist School. The employment process includes an extensive background check.
    • Teachers participate in professional development related to the age-group they are serving, including safety, CPR and first-aid certification. Teachers are trained in accessing appropriate services in case of an emergency.
    • All classrooms are locked and secured while students are inside.
    • Students will play outside on designated playgrounds daily, weather permitting.  Students are with teachers at all times when they are outside.
    • Pick Up Authorization Form must be completed for each student to begin any After School Program. Teachers will only release a student to persons designated on the Authorization to Pick-Up form. All exceptions (emergencies, party/play dates) must be approved by the director.
    • Staff is trained on fire and lockdown procedures, and regular drills are held to ensure proper execution.


  • IMPORTANT REMINDERS

    • Space in each program is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 
    • Payment for after school programs is charged monthly with tuition August-May.
    • Prior to the start of the program, a confirmation letter with detailed instructions will be sent to you. Included will be required forms and releases that must be returned before your student may participate in After School Programs.
    • The program has the right to dismiss the student for a repeatedly late pickup.
    • After School Programs follow inclement weather and emergency closings as determined by Second Baptist School.
    • Families are required to comply with all After School Program policies as designated by Second Baptist School. Failure to do so will result in termination of the student's participation.

After School Programs

Our after school programs, Eagle Extended Day (EED) and Late Room are designed to provide a positive social-emotional atmosphere for children. The focus is to support and encourage success in all aspects of their development. Our after school programs build on the SBS curriculum by providing science and reading comprehension classes. With a skilled team of teachers and caregivers, students are provided with indoor and outdoor activities, nutritional snacks and homework assistance.

The Second Baptist School after school programs extends the school day in a fun, nurturing atmosphere.
