The SBS Golden Girls have three seasons: football, competition and Spring Show. For this year’s Spring Show, the Golden Girls spent many hours preparing for the culmination of their Golden Girls experience. The Spring Show combines Golden Girl routines from the year, plus new ones, along with special performances by the SBS varsity cheerleaders and upper school vocalists.
According to coach Madelyn Wilson, “It was such a blessing to have our talented upper school students perform in the show in addition to the Golden Girls. Each of these students gave up their own time to rehearse and put on an outstanding performance. It really made this year’s Spring Show special.”
This year, the Golden Girls performed their three competition dances, solos, additional routines and the traditional finale dance in their field uniforms. Charlotte Hartman ‘18 and Bobby Zakhireh ’18 entertained those in attendance with an acoustic set, and Rachel Young ’18 wowed everyone with a performance from Wicked. In addition, the brand new varsity cheerleaders brought their precision and school spirit to the stage.
According to Captain Kylie Tidmore ’18, “My favorite part of Spring Show was getting to perform with my team one more time. This year has brought us growth, both as sisters in Christ and as dancers. I am thankful for the 11 girls I had the privilege to lead and for how much they have taught me about grace, leadership and love.”
