Founded in 1946 as a ministry of Second Baptist Church, Second Baptist School is a coeducational college preparatory day school with an enrollment of 1,100 students in grades prekindergarten through twelve. The school provides exemplary programs for its students in academics, athletics and the arts from a distinctly Christian worldview. It benefits from a dedicated faculty, staff and administrative team with students well engaged in their school community. Second Baptist Church provides extraordinary support for the school, which includes outstanding shared campus facilities.
The head of school serves as the chief executive officer and academic leader of the school, is a member of the administrative staff of Second Baptist Church, and reports to the program coordinator (chief operating officer) of the church under Dr. Ed Young, senior pastor. The next head of school will find a strong and stable school with excellent programs and people in place. Key characteristics of the successful candidate will include a demonstrated and articulate Christian faith, strong relational and teambuilding skills and competence in communicating and implementing a strong vision for the school, including advocacy for the school as a ministry of Second Baptist Church. An earned doctorate is preferred. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
