Second Baptist School strives to provide students with cutting edge technology experiences both in and out of the classroom. By adopting the 1:1 model in first through twelfth grades, Second Baptist School has been able to engage students using innovative pedagogies and learning experiences.
Students have access to a multitude of technology resources outside of their 1:1 laptop or iPad. Strolling through campus you may see students wirelessly presenting via Apple TVs, responding to classroom lectures via student response systems or printing one of their own designs on a 3D printer. The opportunities for innovation are endless for our students.
Second Baptist School has been awarded the title of Apple Distinguished School for the 2012 through 2017 school years for our outstanding demonstration of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. The school employs a Technology Department consisting of four certified educators and three certified Apple technicians. The Technology Department is known among Houston-area independent schools for leading an annual technology integration conference, TechFest. This conference aims to nurture and support teachers in integrating technology into their curriculum area for best practices.
