Experiential Learning

Pre-kindergarten students experience one or more EL trips during the school year. The trips are centered on their science and social studies units. The classes visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugarland and the Children’s Museum of Houston.
 
Bridge students enjoy two EL trips. They attend a play by the A.D. Players and visit the Bellaire Nature Center.
 
Kindergarten students take two EL trips during the year. In conjunction with their rock unit, butterfly unit and dinosaur unit, the classes visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The also enjoy a day at the beach in Galveston collecting shells to coincide with their study of seashells.
 
First grade students participate in two EL trips: the Fort Bend Museum and the Houston Arboretum.
 
Second grade students’ EL trips include a visit to the Houston Zoo as they study endangered animals, and a visit to The George Bush Presidential Library as they study United States presidents.
 
Third grade students participate in two EL trips: the George Observatory and Minute Maid Park in conjunction with their architecture studies.
 
Fourth grade students enjoy several interesting EL trips during the school year: the Sam Houston Museum, Taste of Texas Restaurant and the Alamo in San Antonio.
