The SBS baseball team brings home their sixth state championship.
Keeping in line with the tradition of excellence at Second Baptist School, the varsity baseball team proved that determination, skill and hard work pays off, capturing the sixth state championship of the program’s history.
Head Coach Raynor Noble reflected on the season for SBS baseball. “In the beginning of the season, I knew we had the pieces necessary to make a run at the state title. Our schedule was firm with good opponents from start to finish, and that is what prepared us. At the state tournament, the team played really well; we’ve got good pitching and had numerous clutch hits. It all culminated in a 11-5 victory for the state title.”
Director of Athletics Mike Walker added, “State Championship number thirty-two is coming back to SBS! Congratulations varsity baseball for an amazing performance at the state final four."
