After last year’s virtual College Day, students were eager to attend this year’s event in person.
Thanks to the Office of College Guidance: Amy St. Denis, Donna Sims and Allison Dow, Second Baptist School successfully hosted its annual College Day on October 6, 2021, in the E Gym. After a challenging year when College Day was virtual, nearly 75 college representatives from across the globe attended this year’s College Day in person.
The day before the big event, SBS Prefects and Fellows aided in setting up tables, chairs and snacks, getting everything ready to welcome the college representatives and guide them to their assigned locations the following day.
SBS eighth graders and all upper school students filled the gym to speak with the various colleges and universities. As students traveled from table to table, they asked representatives questions to learn more about their respective universities and gain valuable insight about the colleges they were interested in or had never heard of before. The experience also helped many students learn more about the college decision process as they learned specifics about different schools.
Hosting an in person College Day proved valuable for students and representatives. After hours of conversing with students, college representatives enjoyed a delicious lunch from Taste of Texas, Cabo Bob's and Roegel’s BBQ.
College Day 2021 was yet another successful SBS event for the colleges represented, and more importantly, our students.
