Coach Rayner Noble Inducted into UH Hall of Honor

Second Baptist School head baseball coach Rayner Noble was inducted into the University of Houston Athletics Hall of Honor.
Congratulations to Varsity Baseball Coach Rayner Noble for his recent induction into the University of Houston Athletics Hall of Honor. From 1980 to 1983, Coach Noble played baseball at UH, returning to become the head baseball coach in 1995. He not only remains the winningest coach in the University of Houston baseball history but also holds records as an athlete.

“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunities that the University of Houston provided for me,” Coach Noble shared with VYPE Media. “It is a humbling feeling to be included with such greats who are already a part of the Hall of Honor. God has blessed me with opportunities and wonderful people who have surrounded me. This accomplishment is truly a team effort.”

Director of Athletics Mike Walker says, “SBS is extremely blessed to have Coach Noble leading the baseball program. We are thankful to the University of Houston for acknowledging his contributions to their program as both a player and a coach, and we could not be more proud of the impact Coach Noble has made on the lives of so many young students throughout his career.  Coach Noble is an excellent teacher, motivator and mentor.”

VYPE Media reports on Coach Noble’s induction and the impact he is making at Second Baptist School.

These days Noble spends his time inside the dugout at Second Baptist School teaching the game of baseball to the next generation.

As he teaches each new class that walks through the doors about the game, Noble said he does reach into his bag of life experiences and stories to “impart wisdom and understanding to these young men” who call him coach.

“The main thing I want them to know is that life can be richer and more fulfilling with the presence of Jesus Christ in their lives,” Noble said. “God has put me in this position here at Second Baptist School to first, and foremost, be a witness for Jesus Christ. I would like to think that we can reap a harvest of souls while learning to play a better brand of baseball.”

Head of School Dr. Don Davis concludes, “It was an honor to celebrate one of the finest baseball players and most successful coaches in the history of the University of Houston! Congratulations Coach Noble on your induction into the Hall of Honor.” We are thrilled to have Coach Noble investing into the lives of our SBS students.
