Second Baptist School is currently seeking a full-time CURRICULUM COORDINATOR for the 2022-2023 school year.

Work Calendar:  Eleven Months (August - June)
 
JOB SUMMARY. 
The curriculum coordinator is a member of the school leadership team. He/she plays a pivotal role in furthering the mission of Second Baptist School by promoting the school’s core values and portrait of a graduate distinctives. The curriculum coordinator will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing development, implementation, direction, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES.
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following: 
  • Create, continually refine and execute the vision for and direction of SBS curriculum development.
  • Research, write and develop curriculum for all divisions and disciplines. 
  • In tandem with academic leadership, manage and oversee strategic plan initiatives related to curriculum development, such as developing curriculum documents.
  • Work alongside the school’s Academic and Curriculum Teams on curriculum design and planning, student learning, assessment and professional development of faculty and staff.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to develop methods of evaluating existing curricula and assessing the quality of classroom instructional materials.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment across grade levels and divisions.
  • Create a system for tracking and organizing curriculum documents and resources. 
  • Organize textbook ordering, maintain and oversee virtual bookstore, foster relationships with vendors and publishers and manage other textbook-related tasks, as required.
  • Train faculty on the Understanding by Design framework while implementing state and national standards. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Be able to use technology with confidence and ease and have a working knowledge of Google Suite (i.e. Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the Understanding by Design framework, state and national standards and ERB assessment analysis. 
  • Be a responsible steward of the school’s resources and a personal commitment to support the school’s fundraising efforts as able.
CANDIDATE SUMMARY.
We seek the following in qualified candidates:
  • A strong Christian testimony and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction or educational leadership preferred.
  • Prior experience in Christian education; teaching experience required.
