Distinguished Speaker Luncheon
Fellowship with Our Engaging Community
The Distinguished Speaker Luncheon is held each fall honoring our faculty and staff. The event serves as an outreach to the community as we include parents, grandparents, alumni and friends.
During this event, we also take the opportunity to honor an alumnus for their contributions and alumni parents for their support of Second Baptist School over the years. All proceeds from the annual event go directly to pay for Christmas bonuses for Second Baptist School faculty members and salary increases in the following year.
2022 Event Details
This year we will gather on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, to celebrate and thank our faculty for the incredible education they provide to our students. Our community will be blessed to hear from Distinguished Speaker, Scott Drew. The greatest rebuild in college basketball history reached its completion in 2021, as Scott Drew led Baylor to its first National Championship and the first Big 12 title in school history. The unprecedented renewal of the Baylor team is a testament to Drew’s passion, positivity and relentless pursuit of excellence. His strategies for team-building success are grounded in biblical principles to help others lead well in challenging times. Coach Drew, the 2020 NBC Sports National Coach of the Year, has intentionally cultivated an unrivaled organizational culture and championship mindset and is a celebrated expert in perseverance and servant leadership through faith. He is also the author of the book The Road to J.O. Y. A book challenging his players to live out their faith with J.O.Y; Jesus, Others, Yourself.
