Worldview Formation

Second Baptist School faculty and staff are committed to living and teaching from a biblical worldview. As a school, we prioritize worldview formation in our students through equipping employees in worldview development training, creating opportunities for students to have biblically-immersive experiences and fostering relationships that encourage discipleship. An intentional pursuit of worldview formation equips our students to positively impact the world for Jesus Christ.

    Equip all employees with professional development and programming to further encourage that they live and teach from a biblical worldview.

Curriculum & Instruction

To guide the classroom experience for each division and discipline, aligned curriculum documents are necessary in the successful pursuit of our mission. Through the thoughtful planning and execution of our curriculum, Second Baptist School creates opportunities for students to think critically, live biblically and lead courageously.

An Apple Distinguished School since the 2012-2013 school year, SBS utilizes technology to enhance and extend student learning. Alignment within the curriculum enhances students’ core knowledge of technology and instills an understanding of digital citizenship, teaching them how to consume and utilize technology from a biblical perspective.

Student Support Services

In alignment with our core values and in response to identified needs of current families, we have the opportunity to better serve students through a student support services program at SBS. To more intentionally serve our current student population, this program will walk alongside our students, helping them reach their God-given potential.

Second Baptist School provides opportunities for students to fulfill the school’s mission outside the classroom through aligned programming in arts and athletics. To foster teamwork and community engagement, arts and athletics will improve the quality and consistency of experiences offered in each division.

As the demand for leadership opportunities expands, Second Baptist School will draw upon its core values to design a school-wide student leadership program providing language and curriculum to equip student leaders who can impact the world for Jesus Christ. Leadership is learned by serving others, and the school is dedicated to providing consistent all-school service opportunities for its families.

Key Initiatives in Preparation for College

The Office of College Guidance will collaborate with students and families to usher them through the college application and preparation process through an intentional and individualized plan. Grade-level specific checklists beginning in eighth grade serve as the framework for students and families to actively engage in college admissions.
