  • 5th Grade Intro to Technology

    Students are introduced to software available on their SBS Apple Laptop to ensure they are able to maximize the educational value of this tool. Students will learn to create dynamic presentations using Keynote, Google Slides and iMovie; learn basic operations/concepts, online safety and citizenship, data management, keyboarding and more. This class is excellent for any student looking to increase their technology skills. Non-repeatable course.

  • 5th/6th Grade Coding and Robotics

    Students receive an introduction to programming using robots and interactive, student-centered lessons. Students learn fundamental programming concepts such as commands, loops, functions and conditional statements. Students utilize creative problems solving and teamwork while working with Lego Mindstorms EV3 and Sphero robots. Additionally, students code drones using Swift Playground that they then fly. Students in this dynamic course are immersed in problem-based learning, developing design thinking, as well as time management and collaborative skills. Non-repeatable course.
  • 6th Grade Intro to Technology

    Students are introduced to software available on their SBS Apple Laptop to ensure they are able to maximize the educational value of this tool. Students will learn to create dynamic presentations using Keynote, Google Slides and iMovie; learn basic operations/concepts, online safety and citizenship, data management, keyboarding and more.   • 7th & 8th Grade Advanced Technology

    Students design, create and implement digital designs in applicable, real world scenarios. Students create digital media using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for use in logos, branding, websites, animations and games. This project based class provides a creative and engaging learning environment where students will learn relevant professional skills creating digital graphics, storyboards, logos, design products and more.
  • 7th & 8th Grade Coding and Robotics

    Students learn intermediate coding and technical skills by designing, building, programming and controlling robots using the Lego Mindstorm platform in this hands-on, project based class. Students design robots that respond and interact with their environment using programmable motors, color, touch and infrared sensors. This interactive class is designed to facilitate collaboration, creativity, self-direction and critical thinking skills through coding. This course provides a playful learning experience with real-world relevance.
  • 7th/8th Grade Business Technology

    Students are exposed to business industry relevant software and technology in this course. This project based course provides opportunities for students to learn basic finance, stock markets, spreadsheets, multimedia and presentation tools, professional communication, word processing, marketing and more.
  • 7th/8th Grade Introduction To Web Design

    Students receive a comprehensive introduction to the essentials of web design, from planning page layouts to basic HTML concepts. Students use Adobe Muse to create visually stunning websites while enhancing web pages with the use of page layout techniques, text formatting, hyperlinks, graphics, images and multimedia; and produce a functional, multi-page website.
