Admissions Steps

Step 1: Online Application and Checklist
Click Apply Now to begin the online application. You will create a login and password at the start of the process. You may complete the application over time, and your student will be considered an applicant when each step is completed and the fee is paid. You will submit some items via the online checklist.
Step 2: Required Documents
You will submit your student's birth certificate and other applicable documents via the online checklist.

Step 3: Submit Teacher Recommendation 
Submit the teacher recommendation(s) through the online checklist. The teacher will return completed form to the Office of Admissions. One recommendation is required for grade 5. Recommendations from both English and math teachers are required for grades 6-8.

Step 4: Transcript Request
Submit the official transcript request to your student's current school. To print the request, Click Here. The school will return completed forms to the Office of Admissions. 
Step 5: ISEE - Indpendent School Entrance Exam
Applicants for grades 5-8 are required to take the ISEE - Independent School Entrance Exam. Register here.

Step 6: Interview
Middle school applicants attend an interview with an middle school administrator or faculty member. Interviews are scheduled through the online checklist.

We invite you to visit and experience Second Baptist Middle School. Encounter our academic program through classroom visits and interactions with students and faculty. Opportunites to attend arts performances and athletic competitions will provide exposure to our co-curricular programs.

Spotlight Tours

Middle School Spotlight tours are highlighted by classrooms visits, meeting teachers and students, and visiting our athletic center. During this 1. 5 hour tour, you will also enjoy a performance by our middle school fine arts department! Middle School Spotlights will begin September 2019. Click to register.

Student Shadow Days

Middle School Shadowing is customized to the student's interests. Attend the classes of your choice with a student host who participates in the same activities you enjoy. Breakfast with teachers and a student panel are highlights of the day! Shadow days will be held November 2019 and January 2020. Click to register.

Parent Shadow Days

Come experience Middle School at SBS! The day will begin with coffee and then you will head to class to engage with our students and faculty. The morning will conclude with a student life panel and a time to connect with our middle school leadership team. Register and select your class prefence below. We will send additional details closer the your visit. Middle School Shadow Day is open to parents of Second Baptist School applicants.  Click to register.

Arts and Athletic Events

You will have the opportunity to attend athletic events and arts performances including Flight Night, our middle school musical fall 2019 - Disney's Alice and Wonderland, Jr., the Festival of Christmas band and choir concert and the upper school musical February 2020 - Disney's Beaty and the Beast performed at Dunham Theater at Houston Baptist University.
