Application Process

Upper School

Steps to Apply

  • Step 1: Online Application and Checklist

    When you Apply Now, you will create a login and password. You may complete the application over time, and your student will be considered an applicant when each step is completed and the fee is paid.
  • Step 2: Required Documents

    • Submit the teacher recommendations through the online checklist. The teacher will return the completed form to the Office of Admissions. Recommendations from English and math teachers are required.
    • Submit the official transcript request to your student's current school. The school will return the completed forms to the SBS Office of Admissions.
    • You will submit your student's birth certificate and other applicable documents via the online checklist.
  • Step 3: Testing

    Applicants for grades 9-12 are required to take the ISEE - Independent School Entrance Exam.
  • Step 4: Interview

    Upper school applicants attend an interview with an upper school administrator or faculty member. Interviews are scheduled through the online checklist.

*SBS will consider applicants after the deadline if there is availability in the grade level. Priority is given to applicants who adhere to the deadline.

Tours, Events & Student Shadow Visits

The Office of Admissions will offer in-person campus tours as well as shadow visits for middle and upper school applicants that provide a unique look into life at SBS. Visit the Experience page to learn more.

Arts and Athletic Events

You will have the opportunity to attend athletic events and arts performances in person and virtually.
