VYPE Media Interview: Leighton Chapman '23

Last weekend, Leighton broke not one, but two Second Baptist School varsity swim records. He now holds records in the 200 IM and the 100 fly and took first place in both events at the Westfield Winter High School Invitational.

In the VYPE interview, Leighton shares his accomplishments from last swim season, time goals for the upcoming season and his rigorous training regimen. "It's been my goal since sophomore year to swim in college at a Division 2 school and pursue the academic side as well as the athletic side. When asked what he wants to be doing ten years from now, he says, "I want to be a petroleum engineer." 

Leighton embodies the SBS portrait of a graduate, aiming high for his goals, leading courageously in both his sport and in the classroom.
