From the moment she stepped onto campus, fourth grade teacher Ms. Lacy has felt right at home.  “When I visited SBS, there was an immediate sense of warmth and belonging; it truly felt like home.” What sealed the deal for her was the school’s mission to shape both the hearts and minds of students. “Being part of a community that values faith, excellence, and relationships made it an easy yes for me.”

Inside her classroom, she’s created a space that's both joyful and deeply connected. “My class is a beautiful mix of high energy and hearts of gold,” she shared. “We’re not just a class, we’re a little family. It’s a joyful, encouraging space where we laugh, learn, and grow together.”

This past week, her class carried that same spirit to the stage through Jesus Freak, a special performance that brings together music, dancing, and faith. “My favorite thing about Jesus Freak is getting to see the students shine in such unique and creative ways. Whether they’re singing, acting, dancing, or leading behind the scenes,” she said.” It's amazing to see their gifts come to life.” But Jesus Freak becomes a powerful opportunity for students to boldly share their faith.“There’s something so powerful about watching them use their talents to glorify God and hopefully plant seeds in the hearts of those watching.”

Whether in the classroom or watching her students perform in the annual Jesus Freak program, her heart for encouragement never wavers. “I want them to know they are deeply loved, created with purpose, and capable of doing great things,” she said. “I try to be their biggest cheerleader. Whether it’s celebrating progress, speaking truth over them, or simply reminding them that God is with them every step of the way, I want to always be lifting them up.”

This week's performance is more than just a show —it's a reflection of the love, encouragement, and faith she pours into her students every day.
