Teacher Feature | Mrs. Lane

Whether teaching Algebra, Geometry, or Bible, Mrs. Lane's greatest joy comes from ministering to students and watching the Holy Spirit transform their hearts.

“I love watching the students engage with the word of God and watching the Holy Spirit transform their hearts,” she shares.

SBS holds a special place in Mrs. Lane's heart, not just as a school and workplace, but a community. “SBS is unique and set apart. It is a true community and a ‘second family’ for me and my family,” she reflects.

One of the most impactful moments during her teaching career came during In Focus week. A week where middle school students have a dedicated time to come together to hear the gospel. As her students have been studying the book of Acts, they explored how God speaks to people individually. Seeing this truth come to life as students responded to the gospel was powerful.

“It was neat how they could see a tangible example of how everyone can hear the same words during a sermon, but God works in each person's heart in intentional and specific ways,” she explains.

For her, witnessing students surrender their lives to Christ is a beautiful reminder of God’s patience and love. “Any time a student declares Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, it is encouraging. The Lord is patient, not wanting any to perish,” she says.

With a heart for ministry and a passion for teaching, she continues to pour into her students, guiding them academically and spiritually fulfilling her high calling with joy.
