Teacher Feature | Mrs. Killion
Mrs. Sami Killion has been an impactful member of the Second Baptist School community for the past eight years. As a PK4 teacher and the middle school girls’ soccer coach, she pours into all her students, leaving a lasting influence on their lives in the classroom and on the field.
Mrs. Killion is thankful for being part of the SBS family, describing it as “a community that loves Jesus and strives to know Him better every day.” She emphasizes how special it is to work in an environment where faith is encouraged and central to everything. “SBS is such a special place. I am grateful to be here,” she shares.
When asked about her favorite part of teaching, Mrs. Killion highlights her students. “I get to encourage and love on these sweet kiddos daily,” she explains. Whether teaching her young learners about Jesus or helping them navigate friendships, she is thankful for the opportunity to help shape their hearts and minds. “We get to talk about Jesus, how much we need Him, and how to love those around us. I get to teach the most fun age—they love being here, they love their teachers, and they love learning!”
As Thanksgiving approaches next week, Mrs. Killion’s heart of gratitude is a reminder of the joy that comes from loving those around us and pouring into relationships. She inspires her students, players and colleagues by living out her faith and cherishing the relationships she has built at SBS.
