Teacher Feature | Mrs. Beddingfield
For the past 15 years, Mrs. Julia Beddingfield has been a special part of the Second Baptist School community. Starting out as the upper school librarian and now the yearbook advisor, she has dedicated herself to sharing the stories of the SBS community and building lasting relationships with her students.
When the yearbook class needed a long term substitute during a maternity leave, Mrs. Beddingfield stepped in and discovered she loved it. “I immediately loved the content and the students who wanted to be a part of telling the SBS story,” she said. She didn’t hesitate when she was offered the chance to continue teaching yearbook.
One of the things Mrs. Beddingfield loves most about her job is the chance to create close relationships with her students over several years. “ There is nothing more rewarding about working here than those relationships,” she shared. She enjoys helping her students, whether its guiding them through yearbook or simply being there to listen when they need someone to talk to. “I feel honored to offer a listening ear and a bit of guidance along the way,” she said.
For Mrs. Beddingfield, SBS is more than just a school, but a community. From walking across the beautiful campus to hearing praise music, and seeing her own children during the day, she feels blessed to be part of such a special place.
“SBS is a special place, and my journey here has been such a privilege,” she said. Her dedication to her students and her faith continue to inspire everyone around her, making her an unforgettable part of the SBS story.
