State Champions

SBS spring athletes worked hard for months to compete at the highest level, and this year two sports have received state champion titles.

Track & Field

Maddie Johnson ‘20 (First in 100 hurdles (State Champion) and third in in the 300 hurdles)

Kaitlyn Kollmorgen ‘20 (Third in the Shot Put)

Jacob Skyles ‘21 (Seventh in the 800 meter run)

According to Head Track & Field Coach Brad Lane, “This year, I had a committed team that put in the work to achieve. There were several athletes who sacrificed their own goals for the team. It's so encouraging to work with young athletes who give themselves away to the team and push themselves that much.”

Golf

For the second year in a row, the SBS varsity golf team was named the TAPPS 5A Men's Golf Team Champions. Led by coach Kevin Mouton, these outstanding athletes are:

In addition, this team received several awards at the Vype Media Houston Annual Awards Night.

• VYPE Media - Men’s Golf Coach of the Year - Kevin Mouton

The SBS golf team was also featured in the Houston Chronicle.
