Spring Swings Into Action

Spring Swings Into Action

As Houston weather showed off last Friday night, the SBS family celebrated spring athletics at our annual Spring Swing event. The JV baseball team opened the night with a victory against Lutheran South, followed by a hard-fought competition from our softball team against Woodlands Christian. The evening ended with a victory from varsity baseball vs. Cristo Ray Jesuit.

Led by Head Coach Rayner Noble, the varsity baseball team holds a current season record of 10-5. With another month or so left in the season, we cannot wait to see this team continue their success!

Junior Preston Igo shares his thoughts about being a member of the baseball program, “The SBS baseball team is like a family. Everyone helps each other improve and reach their own potential on and off the field. The baseball team is very supportive of one another when the game is on the line, or if we are down a few runs late in the game. Some of the most memorable moments come from playing games together. It really is special to ‌hang out together as a community, even off the field and out of school, whether it be a team dinner or growing in our faith together at team Bible study. We are not a team. We are brothers.”

Perhaps the best part of any SBS event is the way it brings the SBS family — our caring community — together to gather and support each other. Of course, food trucks and face painting, inflatables and exciting competition often make it all the more fun!
