SBS Students are Bound For...

Second Baptist School students in grades 8-12 are privileged to experience a top-notch, college fair experience. SBS College Day hosted 132 colleges this past week on campus, one of the largest ever. Students had the opportunity to engage with representatives from these schools and begin to navigate the college selection process. According to Director of College Guidance Amy St. Denis, “Our goal is for students to take ownership of the process with our guidance.  College Day is a vital step in that journey.”

Leading up to the day itself, SBS students are encouraged to prepare thoughtful questions and asked to interact with three representatives from schools they had not previously considered.

As students speak with university ambassadors, they practice interview and presentation skills. With a mission of preparing students for success in their futures, Second Baptist School hosts an environment where students can interact with adults and peers with a focus on college selection.

According to St. Denis, “We always receive positive feedback from the representatives. They not only speak highly of the fluidity of the day (thanks to the upper school Key Club), they comment on the behavior and professionalism of our students.” While speaking with a representative, one said, “The Second Baptist School College Day is what is keeping me going this week! This school spoils us with incredible food, clear communication and outstanding students.”

Thank you to the Office of College Guidance for preparing these students to take on the college selection process with confidence and knowledge. We can’t wait to see what great places our students are bound for!
