Marching Through History with the Parade of Presidents
Second Baptist School presented the Parade of Presidents. Taking on the roles of our nation’s esteemed presidents and first ladies, these second graders took their parts seriously. From their authentic costumes to practiced accents, the audience enjoyed a trip through time, starting with President George Washington and ending with our current president and first lady, Joe and Jill Biden.
During second grade at SBS, students discover the stories of famous Americans, including the presidents and first ladies, as they study history, patriotism and the heritage of our great nation. The Parade of Presidents lets each student become one of these important figures, sharing interesting facts and quotes. Not only do they learn historical facts, they gain an appreciation for the country’s leaders and learn how to lead by speaking in front of a large audience. The second grade team worked hard on the program this year, and the results were both impressive and endearing.
Always a memorable part of the show, the second graders took time to honor parents and grandparents who have served in the military. These young students sang a heartfelt rendition of "God Bless America," and the entire community felt the patriotic spirit.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
