Victory on the Field
Homecoming 2024 united the SBS community for a night to remember as the Eagles faced off against Cypress Christian, securing a triumphant 49-0 win. From the first snap, the team’s determination and skill were evident, bringing pride to the assembled alumni and adding momentum to their state championship aspirations. The Eagles continue to soar, giving fans much to cheer for as they move confidently toward the season’s final stretch.
Honoring Our Legacy
The evening's highlights included an alumni dinner honoring the 1999 State Championship Football team. Joined by former teammates, current students and faculty, this gathering celebrated a legacy of excellence and perseverance. The stories shared reminded everyone of the dedication and tradition that have long fueled the SBS athletic program.
A Tribute to Lifelong Dedication
This year’s Homecoming also included a special tribute to Ms. Jeannene Simonton for her 40 years of service to Second Baptist School. Throughout her career, Ms. Simonton has been a beacon of encouragement and wisdom for generations of students. Her dedication to her students and her impact on the school community have left an enduring legacy that continues to shape SBS today. Alumni and longtime colleagues offered a heartfelt thank-you to a beloved teacher and mentor.
Crowning of the King and Queen
In a fitting celebration of the SBS family, cousins Wes Baker ‘25 and Lillian Baker ‘25 were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. With cheers echoing through the stands, Wes and Lillian’s win symbolized the bonds and shared memories that make the SBS experience unforgettable.

Homecoming 2024 celebrated the tradition, community and passion that define the SBS experience both on and off the field. From honoring past achievements to embracing the future, it was a night that showcased what makes Second Baptist School truly special—a place where every Eagle, past and present, shares in the legacy of this remarkable community.
