Flight Night 2026

Flight Night 2026 brought together students, families and faculty for a campus-wide celebration of SBS winter athletics. From a pep rally earlier in the day to championship recognitions and decisive wins on the court, the night reflected the pride and support that define the SBS community.

The celebration began with a schoolwide pep rally recognizing SBS winter sports teams. Highlights included a student soccer challenge that earned a schoolwide free dress day and a faculty and staff pickup basketball game in which middle school Bible teacher Philip Addison secured the win for the Lower and Middle School team. The pep rally also marked a milestone moment as SBS unveiled the state championship banner for the cheer team.

Basketball action followed later in the day with the JV men’s game, highlighted by a halftime performance from the Middle School Spirit Team. The momentum carried into varsity women’s basketball, where seniors Grace Wehring and Casey Krueger were honored during Senior Night before taking the floor against Fort Bend Christian Academy. Swim senior Charis Chambers was also recognized for her contributions to SBS athletics.

The varsity women delivered a dominant performance, defeating Fort Bend Christian Academy 81–23 as the student section stayed engaged throughout the game.

During halftime, the cheer team performed its state championship-winning gameday cheer. The routine reflected the focus and preparation that led to the first state title in program history.
The Golden Girls followed with their state championship pom routine, highlighting the consistency and excellence that have long defined the team.

Following the varsity women’s game, SBS honored the 2025 state championship golf team with a ring presentation recognizing senior Christopher Torn.

Later in the evening, varsity men’s basketball recognized seniors Maverick Manginello and Shia Francis, along with senior basketball manager Kristian Abiassi, before closing the night with a 73–47 win over Fort Bend Christian Academy.

Flight Night truly reflected the strength of the SBS community and the meaningful connections formed when students, families and faculty spend time together.
