First Friday Night Lights: Eagles Tee Off the Season and Lasso a Win!

First Friday Night Lights: Eagles Tee Off the Season and Lasso a Win!

On September 4, the school came together for the first pep rally of the year. The theme was Caddies and Cowboys, and upper school students did not disappoint. From people in overalls and boots to multiple students dressed as golf dads, school spirit was at an all-time high!

Students from all grades attended the pep rally, competing in games and class yells. The cheer team stunned the crowd with their amazing stunts and tumbling skills, while the Golden Girls took the floor for a high-energy dance performance. “Big O” (Oliver Dawley ’27) took home the award for best dressed!

The Eagles' first home football game kicked off with an unexpected twist. As the choir prepared to perform the national anthem and fans filled the stands, dark clouds rolled in and it began to pour.

The Eagles ran onto the field with energy and determination to win, and the student section started cheering for their team, even though they were getting drenched with water. Storms continued with lightning strikes delaying the game multiple times, but that did not stop the Eagles. The game was back on, fans were back in the stands and cheerleaders were back on the sidelines.

The Eagles claimed their first home-game victory, defeating KIPP Sunny Side High School 62-4.

From Caddies and Cowboys to a rain-soaked night and a football victory, the first pep rally and home game were a huge success and a memorable start for the Eagles.
