EagleFest 2024: The Best Day of the Year!

EagleFest 2024: The Best Day of the Year!

EagleFest 2024 was an unforgettable celebration of community spirit, a labor of love and fierce fun. The event brought together faculty, staff, students, parents and friends under the banners of camaraderie and competition and was accentuated by picture-perfect weather.

The festivities kicked off with the annual EagleFest parade, where each grade level showcased their spirit by marching onto the athletic field, carrying a flag bearing the different names of Christ along with their grade level banner. A heartwarming scene unfolded near the end of the parade as seniors, dressed in their college t-shirts, joined hands with pre-kindergarten 4 and Bridge students, symbolizing both the beginning and the ending of a student’s SBS journey.

The games began with a rallying cry of "Let the games begin!" echoing across the fields, setting off a day of electrifying competition. Students and faculty competed with determination and friendly rivalry, vying for the coveted Spirit Champion title. In the end, it was the Blue Team that emerged victorious. After all the competitive excitement, Dr. Davis announced Katherine Rodriguez '31 as the winner of a year of free tuition, and then fifth-grader Luke McInturf '31 gleefully threw a pie in Dr. Davis' face!

Following the field events, students and families gathered for lunch, eagerly anticipating the carnival. The campus buzzed with excitement, complete with decorated tents, stilt walkers, rides and food vendors. Juniors and seniors were gearing up for their highly competitive powderpuff volleyball and football games. Notably, the senior boys were victorious on the court and the senior girls triumphed on the field.

Special thanks to EagleFest Chairs Suzanne Roberts and Allison Crosby, along with their dedicated board members Naomi Card, Kari Lymberopoulos, Natalie Baker, Rebecca Dalton, Lesley Correll, Trinecia Pernell, Lauren Cox, Erin Knape, Lisa Iglesias, Natalie Blazei, Anna Ferguson '01, Ana Craft and Kelly Ultis. Their efforts, supported by the invaluable contributions of many volunteers, ensured the success of this favorite all-school tradition.

EagleFest 2024 will undoubtedly be remembered for its unity, fun and vibrant school spirit, reinforcing the strong sense of community found at #OurSBS.
