Distinguished Speaker Dinner 2023

Distinguished Speaker Dinner 2023

This year's SBS Distinguished Speaker Dinner was a record-breaking success, with nearly 1,300 guests in attendance and over $866,000 raised to bless the school's faculty and staff this Christmas. The event, which was held in the Lanier Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Americas for the first time to accommodate the large crowd, featured distinguished speaker Tim Tebow, distinguished alumni parents Melissa and Greg Terrell, and distinguished alumna Caroline Cobb Smith '00.

Director of Advancement Dyanne Kimmel expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the annual gathering, saying it is "something I look forward to each year." She went on to say that it is "truly special to see alumni parents and alumni joining current families with a common desire to support and celebrate the faculty and staff of Second Baptist School."

Marissa '95 and Will Womble, as well as Laura and Jonathan Bonck, proudly served as the event's co-chairs. Both, along with the underwriting committee members, played a vital role in making the evening such a tremendous success.

The evening was a celebration of the SBS community. In his remarks, Head of School Dr. Don Davis said, “At this year's Distinguished Speaker Dinner, our families demonstrated their love and appreciation for our faculty and staff in unprecedented ways. Our families continually amaze me with their commitment and generosity.”

The record-breaking attendance and fundraising numbers clearly indicate the community's appreciation for Second Baptist School faculty and staff and their unwavering dedication to nurturing the minds and hearts of students. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this year's event one SBS will never forget!
