Head of School John Card

Welcome From Head of School John Card

Since 1946, Second Baptist School has held to one purpose: to bring students into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and equip them to do with excellence whatever He has called them to do. That purpose has shaped generations of SBS students, and it continues to guide us today.

We want our graduates to think critically, live biblically and lead courageously. We want them to reason well and choose humility, know Scripture and ask good questions, lead with conviction and serve others without needing the credit.

That takes a community, not just a curriculum. Ours is built on a strong partnership between home, church and school, and on teachers, coaches and staff who know our students, invest in them and see their work as a calling.

What I love most about Second Baptist School is seeing that purpose lived out every day. You can see it in classrooms and on athletic fields, in chapel and the arts, and in the relationships between our students and the adults who teach and lead them.

Come see it for yourself. Walk the halls, sit in on a class, talk to our teachers and students. I think you will feel what generations of families before you have felt.

In His service,

John Card
Head of School
