 Grades 10-12 Second Baptist School welcomes applicants for Grades 10-12:
- The student must be in good standing in their current institution.
- The student must have a strong grade point average and have excelled in a challenging academic environment.
- The student must not have been suspended or expelled.
- The student must not have failed a course for a semester or year.
Students interested in applying for Grades 10-12 must first submit the following for consideration:
- Current transcript(s) that include all courses for high school credit.
- Standardized test scores including previous ISEE, PSAT, SAT or ACT scores.
The above criteria and items will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee to determine if the student may continue with the application process. Please contact the Office of Admissions for additional information. |

Step 1 - Online Inquiry and Application for AdmissionPlease complete the Online Inquiry first. After the Online Inquiry is complete, please print the Upper School Application for Admission (available to download in the light blue box on the right of this page). Detailed instructions are included in the application, as well as the required forms needed to complete the application. The Priority Application Deadline is Friday, January 20, 2012. |

 Step 2 - AcademicsTranscripts for the current year and two previous years are required for all applicants. Teacher Recommendations are also required for all applicants, one from a current English teacher and the other from a current Math teacher.
Please submit these requests to your student's current school after December 1, 2011. The forms are included in the Application for Admission and are due to the SBS Office of Admissions by January 15, 2012. |

 | Step 3 - Testing All Second Baptist Upper School applicants are required to take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). The Application for Admission provides specific details for scheduling the exam. SBS offers the ISEE on Saturday, January 28, 2012. |

 Step 4 - InterviewAn Interview will be conducted for all Upper School applicants (students only). Applicants with completed files may register for their interview through the Candidate Portal (login required). Interview date options include either Thursday, February 16, 2012 or Tuesday, February 21, 2012. |

Visiting the Upper School Open House Second Baptist Upper School hosts an Open House for prospective families interested in applying for Grades 9-12. This year, the event will take place on Monday, October 17, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Deacons Parlor/Atrium (E Building) with a program, reception and tour. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents. To register for this event, click here. |

 Private Tour
For families visiting from out of town or for those that could not attend the Upper School Open House, we offer private tours. To schedule a private tour, please complete the Online Inquiry and make a note in the “Comments” section with the date(s) your family is available.

 Shadowing Prospective Upper School students are invited to Shadow. Shadowing is open to all applicants*. Shadowing will take place in November, January, and February. Registration will be made available to all Applicants through the Candidate Portal (login required).

Applying After the Deadline Upper School Guidelines Applications will be accepted after the Priority Application Deadline only for grades with availability. Summer applicants may not be interviewed until August. Exceptions for out of town applicants will be made on a case by case basis. |

Second Baptist School is authorized to issue the I-20 for international students. Applicants must be invited to the school, accept the invitation, and submit all necessary admssions forms and fees before the I-20 will be issued. The applicant must live with a guardian in Houston or the surrounding area. TAPPS (Texas Association for Private and Parochial Schools) guidelines for International Students must be met for participation in competitive play.
