|For more than 20 years, the Second Baptist School Interim Term program has provided students the opportunity to explore personal interests and expand their minds. During this two-week enrichment period in March, students take a variety of on and off-campus courses, and can travel both domestically and internationally. Not only is Interim Term a time devoted to personal and academic growth, but it also is a time for the students to serve in their community and abroad.|
Sophomores, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to travel as an exciting dimension of the Interim Term curriculum. Previous trips have included: Greece, Germany, Honduras, China, Italy, British Isles, Russia and Galapagos. Domestic travel has included New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Hawaii, Colorado, and college tours of the northeast, Southeastern Conference, California, and the always popular, Texas College Tour.
Students staying in Houston have a wide variety of on and off campus courses to choose from. They become tourists in their own city during Experience Houston, and really get to know their community during Amazing Race: Houston. They explore the wide variety of fine arts in Houston during "The Stars Come Out at Night", or they can go on a photography field trip and visit Hermann Park, the Zoo, Battleship Texas and more. Students also have the opportunity to take cooking classes, serve at an inner-city school, or prepare for their SAT exam. The opportunities are endless!
Whether staying in town or traveling overseas, Interim Term truly has something to offer every student!
