Second Baptist School founded in 1946,

is an independent college preparatory institution that provides academic, social, physical and spiritual instruction based on sound educational and biblical principles. Second Baptist School offers challenging, disciplined learning environments for students in grades Pre-K through 12 and admits students without regard to race, religion or economic background.

As a self-supporting ministry of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, the school enjoys the use of nearly 1,000,000 square feet of educational and recreational facilities on a 42 acre, Memorial area campus. Graduates of Second Baptist School have attended more than 100 different colleges and universities throughout the United Sates.

Second Baptist School is accredited by both the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS) as well as the Accreditation Commission of the Texas Association of Baptist Schools (ACTABS). The latter is recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Upper School Mandarin Chinese Teacher

Second Baptist School seeks to fill a part-time Mandarin Chinese teaching position in the Upper School Second Language Department for the 2012-13 school year. Candidates for the position must:

• Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)

• Be distinguished from peers as truly outstanding

• Be able to demonstrate strengths in the areas of language instruction and acquisition

• Possess a strong desire to teach in a Christian college preparatory school

Teaching experience is strongly preferred. An advanced degree, teacher certification, AP training/experience, and/or prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School will be considered a plus. Part-time Advanced Spanish Teacher

Second Baptist School seeks to fill a part-time Spanish teaching position in the Upper School Second Language Department for the 2012-13 school year. Course load would include advanced, upper level Spanish courses including but not limited to AP Spanish. Ideal candidates for the position must:

• Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)

• Have prior teaching experience (preferably not in ESL but rather in Spanish language

instruction)

• Be a native Spanish speaker

• Be distinguished from peers as truly outstanding

• Be able to demonstrate strengths in the areas of language instruction and acquisition

• Possess a strong desire to teach in a Christian college preparatory school

An advanced degree, teacher certification, AP training/experience, coaching experience,

and/or prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School will be considered a plus.

Football Offensive Coordinator / Assistant Baseball Coach
Second Baptist School seeks to fill a combined Upper School football / baseball coaching
position for the 2012-13 school year. Candidates for the position must:

• Have a spread offense background in football and knowledge in all phases of
baseball
• Exhibit a passion for Christian education
• Be an exceptional and proven teacher of young people on and off the field
• Have or obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a clear personal
testimony and a lifestyle that reflects this relationship

Three years of experience as a head coach or top assistant in an established and successful
scholastic athletic programs is preferred. Prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and
School will be considered a plus. A full or part-time teaching position will be dependent
upon available openings and the candidates’ qualifications.
