Lower School Facts:
  • Students read over 14,000 books, totaling more than 91 million words through the Accelerated Reader Program

  • 17 students read over 1 million words each, 3 students read over 3 million words each, and 1 student read over 4 million words

  • Served those in local nursing homes and in the Third Ward, and created care packages for those in the military

  • Students collected over 160 pairs of shoes for Shoes for Orphan Souls

  • Students participated in 15 field trips throughout the school year

  • Students performed at 4 Grandparent Day programs
Middle School Facts:
  • The average TIPP SAT math score by participants was 440 while the average SBS Middle School score was 515.

  • Twelve SBS students received State Recognition and 1 student received Grand Recognition.

  • 8th grade students completed its 10th year of touring Washington, D.C.

  • 7th grade students traveled to Austin for their annual Texas history experience

  • 6th grade continued their tradition of serving at the Salvation Army

  • 5th grade participated in their team building retreat at Pine Cove

  • The 4th annual Middle School musical, Aladdin, had 3 sold-out performances and over 1,500 people attended.

  • MS wrote letters of thanks and encouragement to members of the military.
Upper School Facts:
  • The Class of 2010 was accepted to 54 universities. They will attend 24 universities in 10 states, with one overseas in Scotland

  • The Class of 2010 was offered academic and athletic scholarships totaling nearly $3 million

  • The average SAT score for the SBS Class of 2010 was 1781

  • 9 Upper School students were named AP Scholars by the College Board with 2 named AP Scholars with Honor

  • 7 members of the Class of 2010 will participate in collegiate athletics

  • This year’s spectacular show, Meet Me in St. Louis, had attendance of over 1,700 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts

  • Key Club performed over 3,600 service hours during the 2009-2010 school year

  • 2 students received TPSMEA All-Region Choir Recognition and 2 received All-State Choir Recognition
